New Organic Psychology/Ecology Journal Online Promotes Personal and Environmental Health and Peace

San Juan Island WA: (MMD Newswire) April 7, 2011 -- The publication of a new online periodical, "The Journal of Organic Psychology and Natural Attaction Ecology (OP/NAE)" has been announced today by The Applied Ecopsychology Institute of Akamai University and Project NatureConnect at the Institute of Global Education(IGE).

The Journal's Editor, Dr. Michael J. Cohen, states that the OP/NAE Journal is free of charge and publishes articles that are scholarly. It also publishes breakthrough material that is phenomenological and emanates from direct sensory contact with natural areas, backyard or backcountry. The Journal, considered radical by some, will, day by day if necessary, continually update itself as it receives new health and peace material from qualified sources.

The OP/NAE Journal is holistic and emanates from the results of a forty-five year study reported in the book "Educating, Counseling and Healing With Nature (ECHN)" by Dr. Cohen. He is the founder of Expedition Education, author of seven additional environmental books on the subject and is a Director of both the Akamai Institute and IGE programs.

"Each article in the journal," says Cohen, "Further identifies, as well as provides a remedy for, the underlying problem that causes Industrial Society to uncontrollably deteriorate the natural well-being of personal, social and environmental balance.

Cohen says, "The OP/NAE Journal recognizes that, to our loss, Industrial Society indoctrinates us with an prejudice against nature that we deny. OP/NAE also recognizes that the remedy for this prejudice is to develop mutually supportive familiarity with nature through sensory nature-connecting activities that can be done backyard or backcountry. The activities help us consciously increase our inherent love and support for the restorative natural attraction essence of nature as it flows around and through us."

ECHN defines our hidden prejudice against nature as "An unreasonable pre-judging attitude or story about nature that is, due to bonding, unusually resistant to rational influence." ECHN also shows that sensory nature-connecting activities are a powerful antidote for our prejudice. They help us renew our suppressed, inborn love of nature and its healing flow. This enables nature to organically recycle and transform the prejudicial pollution in our psyche into constructive and sustainable relationships.

OP/NAE recognizes that natural attraction is a verb. Although the origins of natural attraction "energy" may never be known, scientific studies observe that since the beginning of time in this universe, the life, intelligence and consciousness of natural attraction has organized itself and grown to become the essence of nature's mutually supportive and balanced relationships.

The pioneering mission of Project NatureConnect at Akamai University is to enable our thoughts and feelings to tap into nature's renewing natural attraction "love" that flows in, around and through us. The online program's subsidized, UNESCO approved, training courses and degrees help us activate 53 natural senses that we inherit so we can make conscious contact with the life-nurturing attraction energy of the eons found in natural areas, backyard or backcountry.
