Subscribe to Desktop - The Editorial Page RSS Feed While Craigslist does have an extremely large base of users who like it for its simplicity, it also has its fair share of detractors who wish for a feature and interface update, especially in this era where multiple facets of the Internet tussle for a user's attention, and having an aesthetically pleasing yet functional website is not deemed to be mutually exclusive. Enter the next generation of online classified ads portals in the Web 2.0 space like FullofThings.com. Such portals seek to leverage fully on what the Internet has to offer through the use of Web 2.0 tools like geo-location, Google map mash-ups, customizable alerts, advanced search features, etc. Currently, traditional sites still have the upper hand as the current generation of Internet users grew up with these sites. However, as the base of users evolves to comprise largely of the multi-tasking 'phone in one hand, laptop with twenty tabs open in the other' Gen Z teens as we know them today, next-gen sites could see a swing in their favor if traditional sites do not evolve. About FullofThings.com FullofThings.com (http://www.fullofthings.com) is a
free local classified ads site equipped with many Web 2.0 features such as
Google Maps, advanced search, customised alerts and social networking
integration. It was set up to fill the gap seen in traditional classified
sites which may not leverage fully on what Web 2.0 has to offer.
