77’7” Kerrville Cross Raised on IH-10, Ending 9 Year Epic Struggle
Kerrville, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) 2010-07-27 11:46:20 (GMT) – After a 9 year epic struggle, the 77’7” Kerrville Cross to be erected at the site of the Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden. Tuesday a two-million-dollar, 70-ton, 77'7? red-brown contemporary sculpture named The Empty Cross™ was erected by The Coming King Foundation (TCKF) overlooking Interstate 10, half-way between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, on the transcontinental highway that connects California and Florida. The purpose, according to TCKF Vice President Jim McKnight, is to “draw people to God and to bless all those who visit the 23 acre Sculpture Prayer Garden in Kerrville, which will be free to the public.” Argentine Legislators Disregard the Catholic Church and Take a Stand for Homosexual Rights On July 15th, Argentine legislators made history by passing a measure that allows homosexual couples to marry as well as adopt children, and reverberations can be felt throughout the airwaves a week later. Argentina is the first country in Latin America and the second in the Western hemisphere to legalize gay marriage. The 33 to 27 vote came in the early morning after fourteen hours of debate. Originally, opposition parties had proposed a civil-union bill that excluded adoption as a possibility for gay couples, but as dialogue became more heated, it became clear the Left was unwilling to budge on the issue. The passage of the bill represents a huge victory for secularists in a predominantly conservative Catholic country. The debate inevitably included religious and moral undertones; for instance, when Buenos Aires Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio called for protests, he described the proposed legislation as a “destructive pretension against the plan of God.” This provided rich political fodder for the Left, whose leaders compared the statement to the language of the Inquisition. As reported by MyFoxDFW.com, police released four notes on Friday that Peters wrote prior to killing her 19 year-old daughter Corinne, and then herself. As noted in the report, the notes were left on the front door, in the kitchen area, and on an upstairs bathroom door in the family’s home. The bodies of Peters and her daughter were found in the home July 13. Peters’ husband passed away in 2008 after a battle with cancer. She reportedly had financial difficulty following his death. The note found at the front door is quoted in the report as reading, “To our First Responders: Here’s the key for the front door. I am so very sorry for what you’re about discover. Please forgive me. Jayne.” from Webmaster B. javamanmonk: Father in Heaven, forgive us that remain here on the Earth; for not being better servents. James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Take these your servents, Jayne and Corinne Peters, into your grace. Amen Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again
Jesus Teaches Nicodemus John Chapter 3 1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." 3 In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." 4 "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" 5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." 9 "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. 10 "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? 11 I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." Site promises low-cost solution to effective church marketing Atlanta, GA, July 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Holy Events today announced the official launch of their website, which lists and distributes event information at no cost for churches and faith-based organizations. "Holy Events is very excited to provide this much needed service," said Roderic Clinkscales, the company’s owner. “Everyone knows about craigslist and eBay, but currently there isn’t much that specifically targets faith-based entities, and that is the niche we sought to fill.” The company’s management anticipates rapid growth both locally and nationally, due to economic conditions and the need for more cost-effective advertising solutions that target faith-based establishments. Organizations are able to list their events immediately. "Churches have been hurting because of rising costs, plummeting donations, and a lack of options,” Clinkscales noted. “They need a network that will allow them the exposure of larger organizations but with a smaller budget, and Holy Events fills that need.” For more information or to list an event, please visit the site at from Webmaster B. javamanmonk: I have visited this new website, Holy Events, and I saw interesting information and stories. The wagon train will travel over 350 miles the month of June from Ogallala, Nebraska to Casper, Wyoming Casper, WY, June 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Travelling over 350 miles during the month of June by covered wagon train, the VanFleet Wagon Train will passage a portion of the historic Mormon Pioneer Trail. Danny VanFleet, organizer and Wagon Master is leading a group of over a dozen covered wagons, 50 head of horses and mules, and as many people on the ride of a lifetime. The Wagon Train is a reenactment of the early Pioneers as they made the incredible and painstaking journey west from Nauvoo, Illinois to ultimately settle in what is now Salt Lake City, Utah. This year’s trek marks the third year in a four year journey to highlight the accomplishments of the Mormon Pioneers. This year’s expedition began on June 4th in Ogallala, Nebraska and will follow the trail more than 350 miles into Casper, Wyoming by the end of June. The VanFleet Wagon Train is one of the only organized wagon trains in North America to re-enact such a lengthy and difficult passage. Individuals and families are invited to participate along the way whether for a day, week or the entire journey. VanFleet notes that there are many families who have been a part of the wagon train since the first leg that left Illinois in 2008 and are committed to be a part of the final journey in 2011 into Utah. The final leg of the wagon train’s re-enactment of the Mormon Pioneer’s trek will take place during the summer of 2011 when the VanFleet Wagon Train will traverse the final 450 miles from Casper, Wyoming into Salt Lake City just in time to be a part of the Days of 47 Pioneer Celebration and Parade commemorating the year the first Pioneers entered the Utah Valley. This is a great opportunity for young and old alike to relive a part of American history which highlights the spirit, resolve and bravery of our amazing ancestors who helped create and build thriving communities throughout the rugged and uncharted western territories. History of the Mormon Trail The Mormon Migration from Nauvoo to Utah in 1846 was the largest human migration in United States History. The Mormon Church, organized by Joseph Smith in 1830, settled in Nauvoo, Illinois where, between 1839 and 1846, the Mormon citizens built an attractive and economically successful community. Political and religious pressure from their neighbors, however, forced them to leave Illinois in 1846. This time they decided to found a new community far to the West, near the Great Salt Lake. After wintering in what is now Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs Iowa, they set out on the long trail to Salt Lake. A small group, led by Brigham Young, made the trek in 1847. About 70,000 other followed the trail over the next twenty years. PRAYER IS KEY TO HEALTH Canonsburg, PA 2010-06-08 15:42:01 (GMT)—Communicating with God can improve one’s physical health, Australian researchers suggest in a report showing that religious or spiritual prayer can boost emotional and physical wellbeing. “As a devout Catholic, I experience the power of prayer every day,” says David Beato, author of the new book The Power of Prayer, Endurance and Truth. “It helps me to conduct my personal and business lives in a less stressful and more positive way.” Mr. Beato’s book describes how Religion has shaped his life from his difficult childhood in Italy during World War II to his struggle to make it as a successful businessman in America. Along the way Mr. Beato faced many monumental tests of faith, including the death of his beloved son, professional setbacks and deceptive family members who tried to ruin him. The Australian scientists believe that the psychological benefits of praying include a reduction of stress and the promotion of a more positive and stronger outlook on life. A number of medical studies show that prayer can help to: “I believe the power of prayer will never go out of style,” says Mr. Beato. “In fact, for better emotional and physical health, people should definitely consider incorporating prayer into their everyday lives.” David Beato is a well-known real estate developer in southwestern Pennsylvania, where he lives with his wife. He has one son and two daughters who are all college educated and married, and his greatest joy is spending time with his children and grandchildren. The Power of Prayer, Endurance and Truth by David Beato is available on Amazon.com New App from the BRF Opens Up Bible Reading to a Whole New Market of Readers The New Daylight publication from the Bible Reading Fellowship is now available as an iPhone and iPod touch app, bringing this print journal to a new generation of readers. Vatican gives Beatles compliment
The Vatican paid tribute to the legendary band the Beatles in a recent periodical publication. The church compliments the legendary band on the 40th anniversary of their breakup. Vatican City (WiredPRNews.com) 2010-04-13 05:14:25 (GMT) – The Vatican has changed its tune with regards to the Beatles, paying tribute to the band in commenoration of the 40th anniversary of their breakup. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano published two articles about the band in its weekend editions. The paper is quoted by the AP as stating of the Fab Four, “It’s true, they took drugs; swept up by their success, they lived dissolute and uninhibited lives… They even said they were more famous than Jesus… But, listening to their songs, all of this seems distant and meaningless. Their beautiful melodies, which changed forever pop music and still give us emotions, live on like precious jewels.” L’Osservatore is further quoted as regarding the Beatles as “the longest-lasting, most consistent and representative phenomenon in the history of pop music.”
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem Luke 18:31 ¶ Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. 32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: 33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. 34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. Luke 19:28 ¶ And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem. 29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. 31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. 32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? 34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him. 35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. 36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. 41 ¶ And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. 45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; 46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. 47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him. Teachings of Jesus Luke 20 1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, 2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority? 3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: 4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? 5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? 6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. 7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. 8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things. 9Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. 10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. 12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out. 13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid. 17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? 18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 19 ¶ And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them. 20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. 21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: 22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Cæsar, or no? 23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me? 24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cæsar's. 25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which be Cæsar's, and unto God the things which be God's. 26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace. 27 ¶ Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, 28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. 30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. 31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. 32 Last of all the woman died also. 33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. 34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. 37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him. 39 ¶ Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said. 40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all. 41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son? 42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son? 45 ¶ Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples, 46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; 47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation. "Rising earth greets Apollo VIII astronauts..." While orbiting the moon on Christmas Eve, 1968, the three-man crew aboard the Apollo 8 spacecraft—Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders—offered live holiday greetings from outer space. After describing the desolation and bleakness of the lunar landscape, the astronauts read from the first ten verses from the Book of Genesis. Commander Frank Borman concluded the historic interplanetary telecast—sent to an audience of half a billion people around the world—with the message: “And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a merry Christmas, and God bless all of you—all of you on the good Earth.”
Genesis 1 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. 6 ¶ And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 ¶ And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Sharing The Belief Example Of Witness If you met Jesus on the street today, I don't doubt, that he may say something like, "Hey, Kid, let's do lunch. If I can have a few minutes of your time, you're in". It's just that simple. Give Jesus a few minutes of your time, and you will be in with God. Here is what to do to! Pray: "Jesus, I want to be a better person. Please come into my life and help me change". That's it. You won't need to do anything else on your own. You may even forget that you asked for help. I did this very thing. I just kept on with my normal self, till one day, wham! The change was like returning from the dead. You are going to feel like a kid in a candy store and need to share the experience. Here is my request to you. If you pray that one simple sentence, then book mark this page or jot my e-mail address on the wall some place, just in case you do forget that you asked for a change.
